Shadowbrook, a beautiful 1907 Victorian Mansion in Shrewsbury, NJ, was the perfect setting for Gina and Robb’s Victorian themed wedding. The weekend event started at the Historic Molly Pitcher inn on the Navesink River in Red Bank, NJ where the couple and their wedding party stayed and prepared for the big day. The beautiful Victorian room was the perfect place for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready. The couple exchanged vows at the historic Elberon Memorial Church, A Victorian church with original Tiffany Stained Glass windows. Every detail of their wedding followed encompassed a Victorian theme. The couple got engaged at the Longwood Gardens Orchid Festival and carried the orchid theme to their wedding flowers.
The couple said the best decision they made was adding a Doves release to their ceremony. After the ceremony guests were invited out to the front lawn of the Church where cages and baskets were filled with beautiful white doves. The guests were allowed to hold the birds if they wished. The Bride and Groom held the doves in their hands as their wedding officiant recited a reading about the symbol of doves as the the beautiful song “Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole’s. was played when the doves were released. All of our guests were very moved by the event and are still talk about it being our favorite part of the ceremony.
